Top issues during term (9)(Public Safety)
Jail population climbing
Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
Non-emergent ambulance transports in Brenham
Tax sale and constable sale locations
Free EMS ground and air service for county residents
The county writes off over $500,000 a year in air ambulance charges for residents instead of billing them.
Loose livestock on roadways rising
Housing an inmate costs roughly $80–$120 per day, so a smaller jail population saves money.
emergency facility closures
You might lose a little gas money or time if you show up to a closed building, so check online first.
public safety and park infrastructure
The city will likely have to dip into the budget to pay for new warning signs, updated safety equipment, and potential infrastructure repairs.
emergency management
Expect a hit to the city budget as emergency response costs and long-term infrastructure repairs pile up.
